Chiung-I Tsai, (Marsha) L.Ac.
I was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and grew up receiving care from traditional Chinese medicine doctors. Eventually I moved to the U.S. — my English name is Marsha.
As I settled in to life in the U.S. I worked in human resources for nearly a decade. Eventually I came to realize there are not many resources here for those seeking TCM and it is difficult to find an ideal practitioner. This inspired me to pursue a career with needles and herbs.
I am grateful I can not only help myself but also others, and that I’m able to make a living doing something that I love. My experience working in HR continues to serve me as the interpersonal skills I acquired greatly benefit me as a small business owner interacting with clients.
My clinical interests are mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, and insomnia. I speak English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese fluently giving me the added advantage of serving a wider range of clients and having a better understanding of TCM theories, herbs and formulas. It also means I have memorized all the names of the points in Chinese instead of just the point numbers — this can can really help with understanding the function, concept, and location of the points.
In my free time, I enjoy going to rock concerts, exploring the San Francisco area, and traveling.
I graduated from Five Branches University with MTCM degree (Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine) in 2018, and I am a California licensed acupuncturist.
